AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE THERAPY

Aromatherapy massage focuses on the use of essential oils to enhance the therapeutic benefits of the massage and offers a multi-sensory experience that can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Aromatherapy has an array of benefits. It’s said to:

· improve sleep quality

· reduce stress, agitation, and anxiety

· soothe sore joints

· treat headaches and migraines

· alleviate side effects of chemotherapy

· fight bacteria, virus, or fungus

· improve digestion

· improve hospice and palliative care

· boost immunity

I use soft, long, strokes, as well as light, rhythmic strokes, on the topmost layers of your muscles and skin. Aromatherapy massage is a light touch treatment, there is no pummelling or prodding. The sole purpose of this treatment is for the skin to absorb the essential oils to alleviate tension and promote relaxation.

I use different pre-blended aromatherapy oils Songbird Massage Wax which is suitable for all Skin Types, Nut Free, 100% Natural Ingredients, Recyclable packaging and Cruelty-Free.  â€‹Each Massage Wax contains Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil and Vitamin E allowing me to perform long, gliding strokes, ideal for bodywork.

Relax and rest with a personalised 30 minute aromatherapy massage at Solely Holistic. This specialized massage therapy is tailored specifically to the needs of you.  So this could be your upper body: back, shoulders, neck, arms, scalp or it could be your lower body: legs and feet.  I specifically keep the treatment short to prevent fatigue.  I use a wide comfortable massage table with extra cushions and blankets in case you feel the cold. There is no rush before or after the treatment and your time is respected and supportive.

I also have a weighted blanket which can be placed on you, if you require. Weighted blankets can have many benefits including: improving sleep, providing comfort and security, reducing stress and anxiety, improving your mood and reduces the perception of pain.

To start the massage, I will use a hot towel to put on your back and use gentle compression, using my body weight, to make that first contact with you.  This sets a calming foundation for the treatment.  Starting with compression encourages deeper relaxation, helping you feel grounded, soothed and comfortable.

There is growing evidence that massage has many benefits, physical, mental, and emotional.

  • Reducing Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can be debilitating, affecting every aspect of your life and making even simple tasks seem daunting. Massage therapy has been found to be highly effective in treating chronic pain by targeting the source of discomfort and promoting relaxation. Through the use of various techniques, such as deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy, massage therapists can help relieve muscle tension, release knots, and increase blood flow to affected areas. This helps alleviate pain, promotes healing, and reduces inflammation.

  • Addressing Insomnia

Massage therapy has also been found to improve sleep quality, which can profoundly impact overall well-being. Many individuals struggle with insomnia or other sleep disorders, which can greatly affect their daily lives and productivity. Regular sessions with a therapist can help promote relaxation and decrease stress, allowing individuals to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep throughout the night. It has been found to increase the production of delta waves in the brain, which are associated with deep sleep and relaxation. By promoting deep sleep, massage therapy can help individuals feel more refreshed and rejuvenated upon waking, leading to increased energy levels and improved cognitive function throughout the day.

  • Reducing Pain and Inflammation from Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a persistent and painful disease that affects the joints, resulting in inflammation, swelling, and discomfort. This condition can significantly impact an individual's quality of life, limiting their mobility and causing chronic pain. However, various treatment approaches are available, and one of the effective methods for managing the symptoms of arthritis is through massage therapy. Massage can offer numerous benefits for individuals suffering from this condition. It can help increase blood circulation to the affected areas, thus alleviating aches and pains.

Additionally, the gentle manipulation of the muscles and tissues during a massage session can promote relaxation and minimize stress, which can further contribute to pain relief. Regular massage sessions can also improve flexibility and range of motion in the affected joints, allowing individuals with osteoarthritis to engage in daily activities with greater ease and less pain. Overall, massage therapy can be a valuable complementary treatment option for those seeking relief from the challenges posed by arthritis.

  • Poor blood circulation

Perhaps the biggest benefit of massage therapy is its ability to improve blood circulation in the body as it helps with many daily activities. Increasing a person’s circulation is vital in the later years, as poor circulation, unfortunately, becomes more and more common during this time of life. However, better circulation can be achieved through massage therapy as it helps the circulation of blood in the body’s limbs.

  • Tight muscles

It’s not surprising to be less mobile and less active as we get older. The human body stops functioning as before and we tend to stay home more often and exercise less. As a result, the muscles harden and become tenser, making it even more difficult to move around. What a massage can do is help soften the muscles and tissues.
